About the Photographer: Stephen Kinstler
I started out in photography when I bought my first SLR film camera in 2001 as a graduation present to myself for graduating from James Madison University. Little did I know that 4 years later I would purchase a digital SLR camera and create a portrait and wedding photography business! I am mostly self-taught but have learned from the best photographers out there, including Cliff Mautner and the late Monte Zucker.

I like to think of my style as a mixture of photojournalism and traditional photography. I also look for current trends in photography and allow that to influence my style in a way that will create unique images from your wedding day or portrait session. My favorite images are usually the ones with people in them. Posed pictures and detail shots are nice to look at and provide great sentiment, too. However, the emotions people show when they don’t know their picture is being taken often leads to the best shots from your portrait session or wedding day!

I offer state-of-the-art digital photography using the best photography equipment such as the Nikon D3 and Nikon D700 digital SLR cameras. Fast lenses such as the Nikkor 14-24mm, 24-70mm and 70-200mm f/2.8 AF-S lenses allow me to work with available light to create the right mood for an image. I also offer digital retouching using the latest trends with Adobe Photoshop CS5. My lighting equipment is also top of the line including Nikon speedlights, RadioPoppers, and Alien Bee strobes.
